Nappy Brown

Nappy Brown, the lemon squeezing daddy....

The late Junior Kimbrough brought his juke joint caravan from Holly Springs, Mississippi to the banks of the Maumee River in 1995. He didn't  bring any of the fantastic artwork from his joint, but he did bring the rawest blues that's ever been heard in Toledo.

Gaye of Saffire

Gaye Adegbalola of Saffire: The Uppity Blues Women. Saffire played on Sunday afternoon in 1994 and had all 20,000 people swinging and swaying.  Later on they sat in with Bob Margolin, Billy Boy Arnold, Joe Houston and Nappy Brown for a closing number that was a killer.
