The Best of Fat Possum/Fat Possum-Capricorn Folks what we have here is the real deal. In the 50s Sun Records and Chess cornered the blues recording world with their catalogue of blues giants. Well, I got news for ya, in the 90s it's Fat Possum Records. For the last 5 years Possum has releashed some funkiest blues ever committed to tape. This here collection is must for any blues fan. Guitars out of tune from the Delta sun, vocals caked in moonshine, recorded bare-naked with no over-dubs. In a chicken coop-beer joint this isn't pretty but it sure is beautiful. Check out R L Burnside's delta romp "Georgia Women" or the beer stained "Sad Days Lonely Nights" by Junior Kimbrough. I get chicken skin just thinking about it; I give it 5 porkchops with the hickory smoked Texas styled baked beans. |
